“Power of Movement” Award
The award is granted annually. The award ceremony will be held on 11 December 2026 within the framework of the XIII All-Russian Congress of Traumatologists and Orthopaedists.
“The Power of Movement” Award is established by the Russian Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists (ATOR).
The award is presented annually. “The Power of Movement” Award ceremony is held every December in a gala setting. The ceremony brings together Russia's foremost traumatologists and orthopedists, healthcare administrators, medical industry representatives, and orthopedic device manufacturers. The ceremony maintains a formal dress code: dinner jackets for gentlemen and evening gowns for ladies. Admission to the ceremony is by invitation only.
Applications for the "Power of Movement" Award are accepted until 15 September 2026.
The Award nomination guidelines:
- A nominee may be an individual or a group presenting their work. Eligible candidates include traumatologists and orthopedists, authors of research studies and non-medical professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing traumatology and orthopedic medicine.
- Nominations may be submitted by a group of physicians, a patient association and administration of a medical, educational & medical, or research-medical institution.
- Self-nomination is permitted.
- A nominee may only be entered in one category.
- All nominees should complete an application form and submit the required documents to the Award Committee.
- All nominees are assessed by the Award Committee, which is annually elected among respected leading specialists in traumatology and orthopedics and approved by the ATOR Executive Committee. The winner in each category is determined through discussion and voting.

1.4. Evaluation Criteria:
- Degree of improvement and completeness of motor activity (mobility) restoration relative to age-adjusted norms. Availability of alternative treatment methods.
- Acceleration of patient rehabilitation compared to alternative approaches.
- Patient satisfaction with the treatment outcome.
- Novelty of the surgical procedure (supported by invention patents and/or peer-reviewed publications).
- Reproducibility of the technique across other medical institutions. Demonstrated demand for the procedure within the Russian healthcare system.
2.1. Awarded to traumatologists and orthopedists for developing and implementing an original, innovative treatment method that reduces treatment duration and accelerates patient rehabilitation.
2.2. Award nominations will be considered no sooner than one year and no later than ten years after the method's initial clinical application, with evaluation based on long-term treatment outcomes.

- Advantages of the development (new treatment method) compared to alternative and previously known approaches (based on comparative analysis of treated patient groups with statistical validation of superior outcomes).
- Feasibility of implementation in other medical institutions.
- Positive medical impact.
- Positive social impact.
- Positive economic effect.
3.1. Awarded to healthcare administrators or non-medical professionals for their contributions to advancing traumatology and orthopedics in Russia.

4.1. Awarded to traumatologists and orthopedists with over 40 years of distinguished service in the field.

- State awards and professional honors of the Russian Federation, including honorary titles (Merited Physician of the Russian Federation, Merited Scientist of the Russian Federation, Merited Educator of Higher Education).
- Academic degrees and titles.
- Membership in the Russian professional association of traumatologists and orthopedists.
- Involvement in other professional, scientific, and public organizations, including editorial boards of specialized medical journals, dissertation committees in relevant fields, expert councils of the Higher Attestation Commission on Surgical Sciences, etc.
- Establishment of specialized scientific (and/or clinical) schools and the number of trained disciples.
5.1. Awarded to an early-career specialist (under 35 years) in traumatology and orthopedics for outstanding scientific research.

- Attainment of Candidate (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Medical Sciences (D.Sc.) degrees based on this research.
- Number and caliber (e.g., international/national conferences) of research presentations.
- Positive medical and social impact
- Positive economic effect. Demonstrated demand/application potential of the research across Russian healthcare institutions.
6.1. Awarded to a traumatologist-orthopedist who provided care to victims of wars, terrorist attacks, emergencies, and disasters, demonstrating exceptional personal heroism and courage.

- Length of time providing trauma-orthopedic care in crisis conditions.
- Nominee’s distinct role during collective medical response operations.
